This Week in Winter Haven: Oaklawn Cemetery
This is Oaklawn Cemetery in Winter Haven. I haven’t been able to find any history on this cemetery. This is one of 2 cemeteries I’ve walked through in Winter Haven, and I’ve noticed the grave markers seem to get more attention than cemeteries I’ve seen in Tampa. More fresh flowers and other gifts left in honor of lost loved ones. I find it very moving.
This might be a good time to mention the Museum of Winter Haven History. Apparently the museum is currently only open on Saturdays. That’s a day I’m not in town, but you can find more information on their Facebook page.
A single man AND a humanitarian? Is there a correlation?
